2013 first rally of it’s kind held at Bosham (Chichester Harbour). I found this to be a rather strange sort of ‘Classic’ rally. Turns out if you have a boat 'class' called a ‘Classic’ you can take part. I had a 63 year old boat with hemp sheets and tufnol cleats and I found myself competing against boats that were less than 2 years old. Baffling to say the least.

This was a well publicised event, the welcome I received and the organisation behind it all was the by far the best of the many rallies I have been to over the years. The sailing was most enjoyable and the friendly welcome really stood out. Shame about the criteria of the fleet set-up.
